Paul’s Greeting and Introduction
Paul begins his letter with a warm greeting: “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:1-2). - Revelation of God’s Will: God has made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure (verses 8-10). This reveals God’s desire for us to understand His purpose and plan.
- Inheritance in Christ: We are marked with the Holy Spirit, guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession (verses 11-14). This gives us assurance and hope for the future.
The Mystery of God’s Will
One of the key themes in this passage is the revelation of the mystery of God’s will. Paul explains that God’s plan, which was hidden for ages, is now revealed in Christ. This plan includes bringing unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
