Today, we reflect on Mark 3:1-6, where Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath. This act of compassion drew criticism from the religious leaders, who prioritized legalism over mercy.

Jesus challenged their understanding by asking, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” (Mark 3:4). He then restored the man’s hand, demonstrating that the Sabbath is a time for doing good and bringing restoration.

Key Themes:

  • Compassion: Jesus’ commitment to showing mercy and compassion, even on the Sabbath.
  • Restoration: The Sabbath as a time for healing and renewal.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How can you prioritize compassion and mercy in your life?
  2. In what ways can you bring restoration to others, especially on days of rest?

Tomorrow, we will explore the Parable of the Sower and its implications for our spiritual growth.

Bless you,

Dustin Royer
